On the 10th January, the New Moon will be in the tropical sign of Capricorn and will be conjunct Pluto. None of this will be visible to our unaided human eyes--except for the sun.
In mythology, Pluto was in charge of the Underworld and he was the abductor of the goddess Persephone. He was out of our sight too but you could always smell him coming.
This New Moon is an opportunity to confront what we can't see. A bit like standing up to the Bogeyman in the dark. What is one to do?
Close your eyes and use the force!
This is a highly intuitive time and one to be used to face your deepest fears. To refuse to face up to what frightens you is to give power to it.
When Hercules faced the deadly Hydra, he quickly realised that chopping its heads off wasn't going to work. And then he remembered the advice he was given:
"We rise by kneeling, we conquer by surrendering, we gain by giving up."
And so our hero dropped his sword and knelt in the creature's disgustingly smelly slime. And with his great strength, he was able to lift her to the sun. The monster shrivelled in the sunlight and left behind a jewel.
And so it is with our greatest fears. Lift them to the light. No matter how dark it may seem, a little light will illuminate the darkest corners.
