From the pit of despair to the gate of heaven: Full Moon in Gemini

These past few weeks have been filled with the giddy, heart-thumping anticipation that might accompany a resurrection: for from the depths of the Underworld with the New Moon in Scorpio to the glorious and thrilling adventure that is the Full Moon in Gemini opposite to the Sun In Sagittarius, our journey whisks us from mystery and restores our faith in splendid delight. From the realm of Pluto to the realm of Mercury, this Full Moon reminds of us of how far and how fast we can travel with a little optimism. And of course, the duality is reminiscent of the Heavenly Twins Castor and Pollox and the travel talents of Mercury. The next stop is the New Moon in the realm of Zeus (Sagittarius).

Behold this Full Moon. Be thankful for your inner and outer journeys. You no longer have to cower in fear of the unknown but can bask in the light of Supreme perfection.

There is a caveat however. And that is such moments are but fleeting, temporary and will pass (as Bruce Springsteen once said) in the wink of a young girl's eye.

Enjoy the moment, take advantage of the light and be grateful for the lessons you have been taught.

New Moon in Scorpio

The sign of Scorpio typically has a bad reputation. However, sex, death and going to the toilet have to belong to some sign and that sign would be Scorpio. As was mentioned earlier, in the zodiacal cycle there really is no beginning to a circle. To a certain extent things don’t really die but rather are recycled to be used in a different process later on. If you have ever visited a recycling plant, then you will begin to understand the function of Scorpio: it not pleasant but it is necessary. It might not be fun unless one understands its purpose and from then on it can be rather obsessive. Traditional astrology has Scorpio ruled by Mars but in modern astrology, it is ruled by Pluto, the god of the Underworld. Both planets can learn much through Scorpio’s opposite sign of Venus: it may be an unpleasant job but one doesn’t have to be unpleasant or look unpleasant to do it. There is also the lesson in the enjoyment of doing something so profound yet so needed.

During the new moon in Scorpio, you may be faced with people or tasks that seem very unpleasant but all the same, need your attention and acceptance.

New Moon in Libra

The sign of Libra is the only sign represented by an inanimate symbol: the scales. Scales, of course, are used to measure and weigh to determine how much of something we have. We when are determining the value of whatever we are weighing up, we say we have found its ‘balance’. This is precisely what this new moon invites us to invoke: the balance of our own worth against someone else’s. Therefore relationships of all sorts are called into question: are we doing enough, is the other person doing enough? In the process we are questioning our own worth as we search for that magic point, the point of perfect balance. Libra is ruled by the goddess of relationships, Venus. In Libra, Venus will go the extra mile to ensure she is giving everyone the opportunity to meet together and socialise in one way or another. And, she also wants to ensure she looks especially attractive. The lessons of Libra can be learned by looking to its opposite sign of Aries: the need to work independently, to be in a hurry and to get what one wants as quickly as possible.
During the new moon in Libra, it is good to examine your relationships, to think about what could use a touch of prettying up and to spend some time thinking about how valuable you are to other people.

New Moon in Virgo

The sign of Virgo is the zodiacal sign of the Virgin Mother: pure and unpolluted, the holy vessel of a very special Being. If she were not so self-efficient, it would be in everyone’s best interests to look after her and take care of her. But she really does not need looking after because she knows best. Ruled by Mercury, a person with a strong planetary placement in Virgo does their research and would rather have their carefully laid plans left alone. There is a strong need to keep things efficient and in excellent running order. Organisation is a strong feature. In Gemini, Mercury needs to get to as many places as possible but in Virgo, the key is perfection. The new moon in Virgo invokes a time for us to tidy up, to look after our bodies and to search for way to improve productivity. It involved being quite brutally critical and ruthless in ridding the environment of things that no longer work. The lessons of Virgo can be learned by looking to its opposite sign of Pisces: working with sympathy and compassion giving oneself time to dream rather than constantly pushing to get more done.
During the new moon in Virgo, it is a good time to examine the roles of colleagues and one’s own work routine to ensure it is running smoothly and efficiently, to re-boot a health care regime and to help others attain a state of organised perfection as well.
